The Equinox® II Administration System is a simple, safe, and efficient way of delivering pain relief during trauma, childbirth, or painful procedures.
The Equinox® II Administration System is a rugged demand-inhalation unit for the administration of a 50% N₂O/50% O₂ analgesic gas mixture (Entonox®, ALnox®, etc.) and was specifically designed for use in emergency and obstetric analgesia.
The system consists of a single-stage pressure-reducing regulator, a reinforced supply hose, a demand valve, and a universal patient oro-nasal mask. The Equinox® II Demand Valve delivers high flow rates with low triggering pressures, reducing the amount of effort required by the patient to maintain the demanded flow.
The lightweight demand valve incorporates a 360° patient valve swivel housing that is easily disassembled for cleaning. A bleed pin is included with the demand valve to effectively bleed the system of residual gas after use.

Use of Filters
The use of a Breathing System Filter (BSF), commonly available in hospitals, placed between the facemask or bite block and the Equinox® II Demand Valve eliminates the need to disassemble and disinfect the patient valve and diaphragm. Any pathogens present in the expired air are removed by the filter, eliminating the risk of cross-infection.
After each patient use, the universal facemask should be disinfected. A disposable facemask or bite block should be discarded. The outside of the demand valve body, gas supply tubing, and patient valve can simply be wiped with a hard-surface disinfectant in accordance with standard department protocols. Not only does the use of a BSF significantly reduce device downtime between patients, but it also limits the need for replacement parts (diaphragm and patient valve housing).
NOTE: Only filters complying with ISO 23328 should be used.
